It seems that even after leaving the palace, Harry and Meghan haven’t quite left the palace mindset. According to recent reports, the Sussexes are now assembling a “royal court” of their own in California — and frankly, should we be surprised?
Apparently, stepping back from royal duties didn’t mean stepping away from the royal playbook. It just meant swapping courtiers for consultants and trading tiaras for tailored PR strategies.
The Not-So-Quiet Life
Let’s be honest: when Harry and Meghan said they wanted a “quieter life,” it turns out they meant quieter than Buckingham Palace — not quiet in the literal sense.
The latest development? A hand-picked inner circle of strategists, image managers, media specialists, and philanthropic advisors. Less palace intrigue, more podcast pitch meetings. This isn’t a family office — it’s a brand machine.
But here’s the catch: it feels suspiciously like they’re recreating the very system they left — just with better lighting and a California zip code.

The Court of Public Opinion? Not Entirely Loyal
Let’s talk timing. Spotify said goodbye. Netflix’s Sussex content seems to have cooled. Archewell, despite the glossy branding, hasn’t quite landed with the public in the way one might expect from a couple with global influence.
So now, with momentum dipping, it seems the answer is to close ranks, polish the message, and control every frame of the narrative.
Which might work — if the narrative hadn’t started to wear thin.
The irony? For a couple who distanced themselves from royal life, they’ve spent a remarkable amount of time rehashing it. Over and over again. It’s as if the exit was the first chapter, but they never wrote the second.
Strategy or Spectacle?
Building a team to manage your brand is what most high-profile figures do. The Obamas have one. So do the Beckhams. But where those examples lead with action and let the optics follow, Harry and Meghan seem to prefer the reverse: start with the headline, figure out the details later.
This new “court” might be strategic — but to some, it just reads as more theatre. Another curated step in the Sussex saga where perception matters more than progress.
And while they’re busy shaping their legacy, the question remains: are people still listening?

So, What’s the Endgame?
Influence? Longevity? Another Netflix docuseries? Maybe all three. But one thing’s clear: Harry and Meghan haven’t quite let go of the institution they so publicly rejected.
They’re not exactly “anti-royal” — they’re just trying to rebrand royalty, Montecito-style. And for a couple who insist they’re done with the drama, they’re doing a rather good job of staying in it.
As ever!

No matter what you think of the Royal family (and there are a lot of British people who aren’t fans either!), what Harry and Meghan have done since leaving has definitely not shown them in a good light. Harry is lost and clinging on to a past life, whilst Meghan won’t take any good PR/image guidance whatsoever. They’ve wasted so many opportunities. It’s a shame.
I really was rooting for them, but the hypocrisy is killing me
Yes, you are so right. So many wasted opportunities.
Yes, I agree with your “POV”
Ginger and the whinger should go away and live the private life they claimed to so desperately want. She’s insufferable and I’ve seen desexed dogs with more balls than him. They’re utterly unlikeable
i don’t understand the negativity. i think the “institution” did themselves a disservice, meghan and harry were really popular, i think william didn’t like t
At first I rooted for them and wished them well. But, years after leaving the monarchy, they are still retelling the story of their one and half years as part of the royal family. We’ve heard the story and now it’s time to close the book.
I hope they do well. Everyone deserves a chance. Harry was always in the shadow of his brother and then to lose his mother at such a young age is sad. I’m rooting for them.
So many kids lose their mothers at a young age! Harry has privilege and every single advantage from wealth to independence (supposedly), a loving wife (allegedly), and the privacy he claimed to want… or was it the spotlight he was really after? THEY ARE HYPOCRITES!
they’re their own worst enemy at this point
💯
I’m curious how many people are rooting for these two?
