Up and Adam!

Why Kyle and Amanda’s Split Could Get Messy Without a Prenup.

I am honestly still processing the news that shook the Bravo world this week. After months of rumors and whispers about separate living situations, Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula have officially confirmed they are calling it quits. While their joint statement focused on “growth and healing,” we need to talk about the elephant in the room: the financial aftermath.

No Prenup, Big Problems

Here is the kicker that has everyone talking: Kyle and Amanda famously did not sign a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot in 2022.

If you’ve been following us here at Up And Adam, you know that Adam and his husband, Jason, are huge advocates for protecting your future. They have always promoted the importance of prenups and are big fans of HelloPrenup because it takes the stigma out of the conversation. Adam and Jason always say that a prenup isn’t about planning for a divorce; it’s about being honest and transparent with your partner before you say “I do.”

Unfortunately, Amanda has already gone on the record calling their lack of a legal agreement a “major mistake.” With their business, Loverboy, being such a massive part of their identity and income, things are about to get legally complicated.

Debt, Lawsuits, and Millions at Stake

The financial history of Loverboy hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing. Back in 2022, Kyle revealed he was staring down $4 million in debt from business loans. While the brand eventually saw a massive surge, hitting $16 million in sales, recent reports from 2024 suggest the company has been battling significant losses and ongoing expenses.

Without a prenup to separate their personal assets from the business’s liabilities (and profits), both Kyle and Amanda are legally exposed. When you don’t have that “financial roadmap” that a service like HelloPrenup provides, a judge or state law often decides how to split the pie, and that rarely ends well for anyone’s bank account.

The 2016 Shade

If you thought the split was 100% amicable, the social media activity says otherwise. Just days before the announcement, Amanda posted a “2016” throwback slideshow. Fans quickly noticed that Kyle was nowhere to be found in the photos.

Kyle didn’t let it slide, commenting:

“I guess I was never in your camera roll.”

Yikes. That petty energy suggests that while the official statement asks for “grace and support,” the behind-the-scenes reality might be a bit more strained.

The Official Word

The couple finally broke their silence on January 19 with a shared Instagram Story, stating:

“After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple. We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing.”

They acknowledged the irony of asking for privacy after years of sharing their highs and lows on Summer House, but with no prenup to guide the division of their empire, the public “honesty” they are known for might get a lot more litigious.
