Up and Adam!

Why Whitney Rose, Not Meredith Marks, Should Sit Out RHOSLC Season 7.

Peacock’s first-ever crossover with Sunday Night Football delivered the reality-TV tension fans expected, and it took only minutes before the shade started flying. Several Bravo personalities gathered on the broadcast for a playful NFL-meets-Housewives moment, and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Bronwyn Newport found herself pushed into the spotlight with a particularly spicy question.

Serving as the event’s unofficial “style correspondent,” Bronwyn was asked who she’d send to the sidelines heading into RHOSLC Season 7. It was framed as a football-themed gag, but everyone watching knew the stakes behind it. With Season 6 freshly wrapped and reunion emotions still raw, naming someone to “sit out” next year held real weight.

Bronwyn didn’t hesitate. She named Meredith Marks as the castmate she’d bench, explaining that she felt other women delivered more of their personal lives this season. The room reacted with surprised laughter, but the unexpected twist came when Heather Gay, who was offering commentary alongside Boston Rob Mariano, chimed in to say she agreed. According to Heather, Rob was aligned with that assessment too.

It was a moment that spread quickly across fan pages, and suddenly the question became bigger than a cheeky NFL crossover: Who should actually step back for Season 7?

Here’s the thing. While Meredith absolutely took a more guarded approach this year, her presence remains a cornerstone for the franchise. Her dynamic with the group, her history with the cast, and her ability to anchor heavy storylines give the show stability. Pulling her out would create a vacuum the series can’t afford right now.

If we’re talking about momentum, arcs, and contribution to the ensemble as a whole, the more realistic candidate for a season pause might actually be Whitney Rose.

This isn’t shade. It’s analysis.

Whitney has had runs where she brought strong storylines, but Season 6 wasn’t her strongest. Her conflicts felt repetitive, some of her scenes lacked stakes, and her position in the group dynamics became increasingly difficult to define. When a Housewife hits that plateau, production often uses a season break to recalibrate the cast and give other voices more room to grow.

Meanwhile, Meredith remains deeply woven into the central conflicts and friendships. Even in a quieter season, she provides connective tissue that RHOSLC needs to keep its narrative balanced. Removing her while the show is still stabilizing after major cast turnover would be counterproductive.

So yes, the NFL crossover delivered some fun, shady banter. But if we’re seriously evaluating who should take a breather for RHOSLC Season 7, the smarter, more strategic option isn’t Meredith.
