Janet Caperna Reveals Scary Health Crisis: “I Dropped to 113 Pounds”.
We’ve got some heavy news coming out of The Valley camp today. Our girl Janet Caperna is opening up about a terrifying medical ordeal that has kept her sidelined for the past couple of weeks.
On the January 16 episode of her podcast, This Side of The Hill, Janet didn’t hold back while describing a health crisis that escalated quickly. What started as discomfort turned into a fourteen-day nightmare of “constant pain” and being unable to keep food down.
A Sudden Medical Emergency
Janet shared that the situation got so dire she eventually turned to her husband, Jason, and admitted she simply wasn’t okay. After two weeks of vomiting and agony, a trip to the emergency room led to a diagnosis of acute gastritis.
The physical toll has been extreme. Janet, who stands at 5’9”, revealed that the illness caused her to drop nearly 20 pounds in a frighteningly short window.
“I dropped to 113 pounds, which is extremely unhealthy for my height,” Janet shared, noting that she wants to be transparent about her appearance so fans don’t mistake her current state for a “glamorous” weight loss trend.
Focusing on the Health Train
Despite the rough start to the year, Janet is keeping her head up. She’s officially on the “health train” and is dedicated to gaining back her strength—and those 20 pounds—in the healthiest way possible. She even reached out to her followers for tips on how to safely put weight back on after a major illness.
Taking to Instagram, she expressed her gratitude for her support system:
“I plan on stepping into [the new year] with my best foot forward, and getting healthy and strong,” she told her followers, adding that she is finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Of course, Jason Caperna has been her rock through it all. He hopped into the comments to praise his wife’s resilience, writing, “I’m beyond proud of the strength you’ve shown… You never stopped fighting.”
Janet was quick to credit him for holding down the fort with their son while she was incapacitated. It’s clear these two are stronger than ever, even when life throws a massive curveball.
We are sending so much love and healing vibes to Janet! Gastritis is no joke, and we can’t wait to see her back to 100%.
